Historic Season Continues: Las Plumas Cruises into NorCal Semifinals

The Las Plumas High School Thunderbirds opened the CIF NorCal Division III Softball Championships with a commanding 9-2 victory over Foothill High School in the first round Tuesday afternoon. With the win, Las Plumas improved its remarkable season record to 29-1-1 and advanced to the NorCal semifinals.

The Thunderbirds came out swinging, scoring early and often to seize control of the game from the outset. Las Plumas built an early lead and never looked back, putting consistent pressure on Foothill both offensively and defensively.

In the circle, Kyler Storey delivered another outstanding performance, pitching a complete-game victory. Storey kept Foothill’s hitters in check throughout the contest and helped preserve the Thunderbirds’ comfortable lead.

The combination of timely hitting, strong defense, and dominant pitching has been the formula behind Las Plumas’ historic season, and it was on full display in their NorCal playoff opener. Now just two wins away from a NorCal championship, the Thunderbirds will look to continue their postseason run in the semifinals.
