The Las Plumas High School varsity volleyball team continued its impressive run at home, defeating the Marysville Indians in three straight sets to remain undefeated on their home court.

The Thunderbirds came out strong and controlled the match from start to finish, putting together another complete team performance. Las Plumas’ aggressive serving and balanced attack kept Marysville on the defensive throughout the match.

Caysley Hepworth led the Thunderbirds at the net with 8 kills, while Saige Hurte added 5 kills to help pace the Las Plumas offense. Sarah Floyd directed the attack with 10 assists, setting up her teammates for numerous scoring opportunities.

Serving was another major strength for the Thunderbirds, as Jayse Long delivered an outstanding 8 aces, putting constant pressure on the Marysville defense.

Defensively, Sweety Vang and Josslyn Mendenhall shared time at libero and both turned in great performances, helping keep rallies alive and giving Las Plumas plenty of opportunities to finish points.

With another straight-set victory in the books, the Thunderbirds continue to build momentum and protect their home court. Las Plumas remains undefeated at home, showing that it will take a strong effort from any opponent to knock off the Thunderbirds on their own court.
